Foster Crossing Water Line

Project Description: Installation of 6,750 linear feet of twelve-inch water line generally along the north side of Foster Crossing between an existing 18” line along the DART rail and the Pecan Grove Subdivision. The Foster Crossing Water Line is necessary in order to provide a critical water line loop to the Pecan Grove and Anna Crossing subdivisions, serve future development and enable the City to fully utilize the Collin Pump Station located near the Collin County Outer Loop.

Project Status: Easement acquisition. Opinion of Probable Project Cost $890,000

Funding Source: The project is fully funded by the 2012 Certificates of Obligation designated for water system improvements.

Disinfection System Upgrades

Project Description: Installation of a new disinfection system at each water production facility to enable the City to use chloramination as the disinfection method for water treatment. Chloramination  is a method of disinfection commonly used in water systems that is a combination of chlorine and liquid ammonium sulfate. Chloramination would replace the current method of free chlorine and provide a more stable disinfectant residual, less taste and odor, and eliminate or diminish disinfection byproducts. Additionally, the project would allow the City to blend well water with purchased surface water more efficiently.

Project Status: Bidding Phase.

Funding Source: The project is fully funded by the 2012 Certificates of Obligation designated for water system improvements.

US 75 Utility Relocates

Project Description: Relocation of water and sewer lines in conflict with improvements to US 75 as proposed by the Texas Department of Transportation.   

Design Engineer: Birkhoff, Hendricks & Carter, L.L.P.

Project Status: Under design and in easement acquisition. Opinion of Probable Project Cost $1,800,000.

Funding Source: To be determined. A portion of the project qualifies as reimbursable by the Texas Department of Transportation.

Sherley Above Ground Storage Tank Rehabilitation

Project Description: Rehabilitation of a 100,000 gallon above-ground water storage tank including welding, metal repairs, hatch replacement and new exterior and interior coatings.   

Design Engineer: Birkhoff, Hendricks & Carter, L.L.P.

Project Status: Bidding Phase. Opinion of Probable Project Cost $109,000.

Funding Source: Texas Water Development Board funds held by the Greater Texoma Utility Authority on the City of Anna's behalf.
