New to Civic Engagement Scholarship for Leadership Anna
Hello Anna neighbors! The Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Commission has created a scholarship for one Anna neighbor to attend Leadership Anna, at no cost to them. Leadership Anna is a six-week program where attendees learn about many parts of the Anna community, including: social service organizations, economic development, education, leisure, public safety, Anna’s government, and health services. Leadership Anna helps neighbors get involved and get connected to the information, connections, and skills they need to become community leaders. The Chamber will be holding this program twice a year, beginning this spring. More information, and the Leadership Anna application, can be found here.
Leadership Anna costs $300 for Chamber members and $350 for non-chamber members. The Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Commission wants to empower a neighbor to become civically engaged by covering their attendance fee. All Anna neighbors, whether 18 or 80, whether residing here for a day or a decade, are welcome to apply, but emphasis will be put on those not currently serving in an elected or appointed public service capacity within the community and those who are new to but passionate about getting civically engaged.
The spring application closed January 4th, 2021. The fall application will open sometime in early summer, so please check back here and in Neighbor Notes for updates.
