Life Safety Division
he Life Safety Division oversees all Fire Prevention and Community Risk Reduction activities. These efforts are undertaken through the Fire Marshal and include the following areas: Public Education, Fire Inspections, Arson Investigations, Commercial and Residential Plan Review, and Pre-Incident Planning. This division is also responsible for the city's Code Enforcement operations.
Each year, the Life Safety Division conducts fire inspections in all types of existing businesses throughout the city. New construction projects are also inspected. Any violations discovered are brought to the attention of the business owner or construction project manager. These inspections help ensure that properties are maintained and businesses are safe for employees and visitors.
The Life Safety Division is led by Deputy Chief Ray Isom, who is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enforcing all related laws and fire codes.
Currently, the Anna Fire Department enforces the 2015 International Fire Code as amended by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG). Please see the contractor information listed below for information on new construction requirements, inspection requests, and the plan review process.
