Company partnership with Arbor Day promotes conservation, environmental stewardship:
The Energy-Saving Trees program is helping put free shade trees on the property of employees and customers across our service territory for the second straight year. Our partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation makes 8,000 trees available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The program is designed to promote energy conservation by educating customers on the best places to plant trees to lower heating costs in the winter and cooling costs in the summer while avoiding power lines.
“It’s always a great opportunity when we can help educate folks. In this case, providing trees and teaching our customers how to plant them in harmony with our power lines,” Vice President of Distribution Operations Keith Hull said. “It’s the best of both worlds – the conservation that residents want and need, as well as the clearance we need for our electric facilities.”
Any homeowner within our service territory is eligible for two free trees at arborday.org/oncor. Sign up for yours today and share the link with eligible family and friends. Once the trees are gone – they’re gone.
