McKINNEY – Southbound and northbound US 75 mainlanes will be closed on different days this weekend at Bloomdale Road and traffic diverted to the frontage roads for a traffic switch.
Between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, the southbound side of the highway will be closed to stripe and shift traffic over to detour pavement so new mainlanes can be constructed.
Between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 25 the northbound side of US 75 will be closed to continue that operation on the northbound side of the highway.
During both of these closures Bloomdale Road will also be closed to crossing traffic.
DETOUR:
• Southbound US 75: Traffic coming from the west on Bloomdale to US 75 will be diverted using Community and then south to Wilmeth and back over to US 75. From the east, traffic will have to use Red Bud south to Wilmeth back to US 75. US 75 southbound traffic will be diverted to the Bloomdale exit, remain on the frontage road and re-enter US 75 at the entrance ramp to the north of Wilmeth.
• Northbound US 75: Traffic coming from the west on Bloomdale to US 75 will use Community south to Wilmeth and back over to US 75. From the east traffic will detour to Red Bud south to Wilmeth back to US 75. US 75 northbound traffic will be diverted to the Bloomdale exit and re-enter US 75 at the entrance ramp to the north of FM 543.
• Weston Road remains closed and traffic headed to the frontage roads on either night from Weston Road will be detoured to keep US 75 traffic flowing continuously.
Police will be on site to direct traffic at the Bloomdale Road/ US 75 frontage road intersections. Traffic is expected to move slowly and alternate routes are advised.
