For several years now the City of Anna, Collin County, and The Texas Department of Transportation have been working on a plan to reconstruct FM 455 (White Street) in Anna by expanding it from a two-lane rural roadway to a four-lane (ultimately six-lane) divided boulevard.
The first phase of the project will include the reconstruction of FM 455 from the U.S. 75 east frontage road to State Highway 5 (Powell Parkway). Right-of-way for the expansion is currently being acquired. After the additional right-of-way has been acquired, the City of Anna and other local utility providers (electric, gas, telephone, etc.) will need to relocate any utility lines that will conflict with the expanded roadway.
Once all the utility lines have been relocated, construction on the roadway can begin. TxDOT hopes to begin construction by the end of 2012. While the construction timeline has not yet been established, we anticipate completion of the project within 18 to 24 months after construction on the roadway starts.
