[ARCHIVED] National Night Out -

This year's National Night Out event will be Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Slayter Creek Park (425 Rosamond Parkway). Citizens will have the opportunity to meet and greet representatives from the Anna Police and Fire Departments and is usually attended by County agency personnel as well.

In addition, the police and fire departments will have vehicles on display, either Careflite or PHI will have their ever-popular helicopters on display (weather and calls permitting). The fire department will be cooking hotdogs. In addition, there will be face painting and balloon animals, along with a bounce house for the children. Although there will be food and fun for people of all ages, the purpose of this event is to solidify the police and community partnership to help reduce crime and eliminate fear from the criminal element.

As in previous years, the NNO event will suffice for annual neighborhood watch meetings and counts toward participation in the neighborhood watch program. We are urging everyone to participate in this year's event to help meet our goal of having an active neighborhood watch program. Neighborhood watch packets will be available to anyone who wishes to obtain information on how to start a neighborhood watch program.

Contact Lieutenant Jeff Caponera (jcaponera@annatexas.gov) for further information.
