This Saturday there will be the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms and brief heavy rainfall. While the steady eastward motion of the system should limit widespread flooding rains, a few spots along and east of Interstate 35 may pick up 2 to 3 inches of rainfall prior to dawn Sunday. With the ground remaining saturated, this will create the potential for renewed small stream flash flooding and river flooding. All of the thunderstorms - and the impacts they create - should be out of North Central Texas by daybreak Sunday.
City of Anna first responders will be monitoring the situation and responding as appropriate. If you observe water over a road please alert the non-emergency number for Collin County dispatch at (972) 547-5350. Remember “Turn Around, Don’t Drown”.
