[ARCHIVED] FM 455 Overnight Closure - Scheduled for a second night Monday, June 6th

Overnight Closure - May 24 2016 - 2.jpg

When: Monday, June 6th, 2016 between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM. The overnight closure on Sunday, June 5th was successful but the contractor (Lone Star) needs second night to complete the work.

Where: On FM 455 (White) between West Crossing and State Highway 5 (Powell). Local traffic will still be allowed to access the Westfield subdivision and local businesses within the closed area from the west closure only.

Why: TxDOT’s contractor will be paving the new westbound lanes of FM 455 between the Slayter Creek Bridge and SH 5 and will need to use the existing lanes to stage concrete trucks.
Detour: Through traffic will detour using Rosamond Parkway and West Crossing Boulevard. Signs and traffic control will be in place.

Secondary Rolling Closure: After the section between the Slayter Creek Bridge and SH 5 is complete the contractor will continue to work at night using a rolling lane closure. This means that traffic will be reduced to one lane in the immediate work area only. Flaggers will allow traffic through the work area alternating between the westbound and eastbound lanes as needed. The rolling lane closure is expected to begin Wednesday night (June 1st) and continue on weeknights until the westbound lanes are largely complete.

For additional information on this closure you may contact TxDOT at (972) 542-2461 or Public Works at (972) 924-4510.
