For the past several years, the City of Anna has been studying alternatives for the construction of new city buildings and facilities as we continue to grow. In 2016, an architectural firm hired by the City prepared a Needs Assessment, Site Assessment and Conceptual Design for construction of a new City Hall. Also In 2016, the City purchased a 4.1-acre tract of land located at the southeast corner of Fifth Street and Powell Parkway (SH 5). The property’s size and proximity to existing City buildings make it an ideal location for the long-term expansion and construction of new city facilities including a City Hall.
On Thursday April 13, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the Anna High School Auditorium, the City of Anna hosted a public meeting and presented information about the conceptual plans that have been developed for construction of a new City Hall. Included here is the presentation by the architect the City hired to develop the needs assessment and conceptual designs. Also included is a presentation by the City’s financial advisor on a proposal to issue bonds to fund construction of a new City Hall.
The City Council is considering these proposals, but has not yet made a final decision. The City welcomes input and feedback from the public on this important project.
