[ARCHIVED] Fireworks -

In anticipation of the July 4th Holiday here is a PSA from our Fire Department:

Leaving Fireworks to the Professionals
The 4th of July is approaching and thousands are making plans on how to celebrate in 2018. Before making your plans, the Anna Fire Department has some safety tips to keep in mind when considering fireworks.
•The best way to protect your family is not to use any fireworks at home. Instead, leave it to the professionals by attending the public fireworks display at the Anna High School (1107 W Rosamond Parkway). The fireworks begin around 9:00 pm.
•If you plan to use fireworks, make sure they are legal in your area. Per city ordinance, the use of fireworks within the city limits is prohibited.
•Sparklers can heat up to 1,200 degrees and are dangerous for young children to hold. A better option is to let your children use glow sticks.
Thank you and have a great 4th of July!
