ANNA (May 27, 2019) Officials with the City of Anna, the Anna Area Chamber of Commerce, along with physicians associated with the new Surgery Center of North Texas were joined by representatives of Republic Health Group, Curtis Group Architects, and Novel Builders in breaking ground on March 24 for the physician group’s new outpatient surgery center in Anna.
The physicians group, comprised of ten highly-experienced surgeons specializing in orthopedics, sports medicine, ophthalmology, ear/nose/throat, and gastroenterology, have distinguished themselves, individually and as a group, having been continually cited for providing high-quality care, garnering exceptional patient satisfaction scores, winning a number of local and national awards, and ranking at the top in national ratings.
Anchoring the Hurricane Creek development of Anna, west of US 75 and north of Hwy 455, the center is the first of what developer and city officials envision as the growing city’s next high development area.
The single-story Anna location will encompass over 23,000 sq. ft. of office and clinical space, designed as a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center with four, full-sized operating rooms, an ophthalmologic procedure room, and two gastrointestinal procedure suites.
Ample pre-surgical and post-surgical recovery bays will be available for the patients and their families. The center is scheduled to open in the spring of 2020.
The addition of the full-service medical facility adds to Anna’s growing array of services to residents and visitors, says Mayor Nate Pike.
“We are one of the fastest growing communities in North Texas, and our location along a major north-south corridor makes us a key destination for specialized services,” he said. “Anna is well-positioned to be a major stop for people seeking the kind of medical procedures that the Surgery Center offers. We could not be more pleased.”
The physician/owners agree, noting that Anna’s prime location between populations centers in the Texas/Oklahoma area on the north and the McKinney area to the south makes it an attractive location for the kinds of surgical services the center will provide.
In fact, the physician/owner group, which has already developed and staffed similar outpatient surgery centers in North Texas, has revealed plans to develop a medical campus on their 23-acre tract that will likely include professional, medical and retail outlets.
Construction and development, with an estimated investment of some $12 million, is under the auspices of Republic Health Group and Novel Builders of Richardson.
