The city offers medical, dental, vision and a prescription plan to regular, full time employees and their dependents, as well as health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts. Full time employees are also provided with a life insurance policy equal to $15,000 for basic life and $15,000 for AD&D, with optional supplemental life up to three times employee’s annual salary.
Vacation and Leave
The city offers vacation and sick leave, as well as twelve paid holidays. Regular, full time employees earn three weeks of vacation for the first nine years of employment and 2.4 weeks of sick leave. Retirement Plans
The city provides a retirement plan to eligible employees through the Texas Municipal Retirement System, as well as a voluntary supplemental 457 deferred compensation plan.
In addition to TMRS, all employees of the City are included in the Medicare System.
