City of Anna Social Media Terms of Use Policy
The City of Anna’s social media pages are intended to provide information to residents, businesses, and visitors about City services, events, and programs. We encourage open dialogue and welcome questions and comments. However, the following Terms of Use apply to the content posted on all City of Anna social media platforms.
Commenting Guidelines:
- Respectful Dialogue: We encourage civil discourse. All comments should be respectful of others and focused on the subject at hand.
Prohibited Content: The City of Anna reserves the right to delete any comment, post, or content that:
- Contains threats of physical violence, harassment, or personal attacks;
- Involves blackmail or extortion;
- Includes defamatory, false, or misleading information;
- Contains obscenities, vulgarity, or offensive language;
- Incites “fighting words” or promotes violence;
- Encourages or solicits criminal activity;
- Contains or links to child pornography or other illegal content;
- Incites imminent lawless action or advocates illegal activities;
- Infringes upon the intellectual property rights of others;
- Contains fraudulent or deceptive content;
- Constitutes spam or is purely promotional without relevance to the City of Anna;
- Is off-topic or not within the scope of the responsibilities of the City of Anna (or the specific departmental Page);
- Contains personally identifiable information (such as social security numbers) or confidential data;
- Is off-topic or unrelated to the subject matter of the original post.
Monitoring: The City of Anna monitors its social media pages but may not be able to respond immediately to all inquiries. Comments and posts are subject to public disclosure laws.
Removal of Comments: While comments and posts will not be removed based on their opinion or viewpoint, moderators may hide, redirect comments, or replies that are off-topic or not within the scope of the responsibilities of the City of Anna (or the specific departmental page). The City reserves the right to remove any content deemed inappropriate or in violation of these terms without notice.
Blocking Users: Repeated violations of these guidelines may result in the user being blocked from the City of Anna’s social media platforms.
External Links: Any links to external websites or content posted by users do not constitute endorsement by the City of Anna.
