Juveniles and Minors

State Law requires all defendants who have received a citation and are under 17 at the time of the offense to appear in open court with their parent or legal guardian to enter a plea before the Judge.

o A parent or guardian must be present for any and all court proceedings until the case is finally resolved.

o All defendants under the age of 21 who have received a citation for a tobacco-related offense must appear in open court to enter a plea before the Judge.

o All defendants under the age of 21 who have received a citation for an alcohol-related offense must appear in open court to enter a plea before the Judge.

o Defendants who meet these criteria will be notified of their court date via mail.
