In an effort to address specific action items identified in the Anna 2050 Comprehensive Plan, the City of Anna recently adopted new Planning and Development Regulations.  

  • Action 3.5.  Code Overhaul
  • Action 4.9.   Standards and Regulations for Downtown.
  • Action 5.3.   Development Flexibility.
  • Action 8.3.   Open Space Standards.

The newly adopted regulations will improve staff efficiency, clarify the City’s development regulations, simplify the development approval process, and align the City’s regulations with the vision of the Anna 2050 Comprehensive Plan.

The Planning Division of the Department of Development Services performs a variety of services intended to protect, maintain, and develop an attractive, safe, and healthy environment. Primary functions address property development and land use activities occurring in the City.

The department provides direction and leadership in implementing the goals, objectives, and policies of the City as adopted by the City Council.

The Development Services Department is also responsible for the orderly development of the City and the administration of various land use regulations, including the Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance, and Design Review Ordinance.

The department also provides technical assistance and staff support to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
